Breakfast @ Changi Road

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="Changi Road and Jalan Masjid"]Changi Road for breakfast[/caption]

The east of Singapore is not like any other place in Singapore. It can be very laid back and non-urban looking, or it can be very upbeat and modern. A few kilometers down Upper Changi Road, you would see something totally different.

Laid back as it is, the place is bustling with shops and food places located in 2-storey pre-war shop houses like the one I sketched, with interesting antennae sticking out from the roof creating nice visual interests.

Actually the food is far better than those found in the city, because they are usually authentic local delights not made into chains. For example in this coffee shop, we would find delicious fried Hokkien mee, very authentic hand made wanton noodles and even Penang fried kuay teow. As I am typing this, I am feeling hungry already.
