What's the motivation to sketch or draw on location...

Whenever I sketch, I have to make sure I'm not only happy with the results, but also happy with the entire process of looking and assimilating, which is what sketching on location is all about. This principle is not new to all of us, but sometimes we can be too caught up with wanting to draw like somebody, or pursuing a particular technique, we lost the fun of drawing.
