It has been a long time since we met for dinner and coffee... Kat's old time colleague from the hospital now a friend for 20 years. I got to know her when I was still dating Kat while she worked in the intensive care unit in SGH. We came out once together for dinner and were talking about life and what we would be doing in 10 years time. She mentioned that she was deciding to redo her "A" Levels and that piece of news from her surprised us. Later one we got to know also that she completed her As and then moved on to the university to complete her degree in Electrical and Electronic engineering. From a trained nurse to an engineer, that was really unheard of. We were impressed. Today as we met again 20 years later, she is a Facility & Marketing Manager for a high end testing lab - she has managed and setup a testing lab which is the only one in that nature in the Asia-Pacific. I asked her whether she has regretted giving up her nursing career to pursue another career as an engineer, she said flatly no. For her it was a great adventure and she was glad she persevered. I gave up my engineering career to pursue a career in the arts when I was 28. She redid her "A" Levels when she was 29... kudos to her!!
Anyway we ate at Sushi Teh at Vivo City which was jam-packed with people because TP is having their graduate show there. I didn't get to see it but I will try maybe later this week if it is still there. I could see that it is quite a grand affair. Here are the sketch results while we chilled at Vivo.
