I am always intrigued by clouds, and would be so interested to find out the names from a textbook or something. I took a picture from my car as I was traveling on a highway. Since there was a slow traffic at that moment I was able to snap a quick picture of a towering cloud above the highway.
The way it reflected the sunlight was magical. I so wanted to paint it on the spot but the circumstance did not allow me to do so. It is illegal to stop on a highway for no good reason and I would be given a fine if I did so. So I have to content myself to paint it from a picture.
I used a hot pressed arches paper, quarter size and took about 2 hours to do this. I am quite satisfied with the contrast.
