Coaster art

Chilling in cafe after church is something I always look forward to. Last Sunday, I suggested Starbucks but a friend of ours recommended another. It's a very relax and cosy cafe named Black Bird. They serve ice water placed on blank coasters which I immediately took to sketch on. At first I wanted to doodle on it but decided to sketch some of the customers who were chilling there too. Now I am thinking the other cafes should have blank coasters as well.

I posted these drawings on Urban Sketchers and these are the comments. Love them all!! I am indeed really touched.

I hope they recycle their coasters! It would be cool to have these in circulation in the café.

Lovely, Don! Seeing this, I´m thinking I should cut some circle shaped papers to bring with me when I go sketching. It looks incredibly good.

Great! Yes, blank coasters should be mandatory in cafes - that way we would always have something to sketch on.

Very cool :) One step up from having to draw on the napkins.

Excellent, your style really suits them, they'd look great as packaging on a fresh roasted coffee brand or even beer label!

Thank you guys!!
